Talkin' Tuesday - Meet Lauren from FlashForward!

Here are 9 Fierce Facts about Lauren and one line is completely fictional.  Get involved by guessing which one of the 10 items listed below is the impostor. Put your comments below and Lauren may be around on Twitter so you can poke at her for some hints!  The fictional statement about Lauren will be posted next Tuesday when I feature the next CN Teammie. See below for the false fact about last week's featured teammie, Shelley.

1.  I graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, TN.  I studied Music Business there and loved it!
2.  I love the Harry Potter series, so much so that I took a course on it in London and went all over England and Scotland to filming locations and places connected with JK Rowling.
3.  I play violin and guitar and am in a band called The Restoration (http://therestoration.net/ and http://facebook.com/therestoration).
4.  I love living in South Carolina because I'm a short drive from both the mountains and beaches.  I get the best of both worlds!
5.  I have 2 sweet cats, 3 fish, and am an aunt to my brother's adorable boxer.
6.  When I lived in Los Angeles, I once waited for an elevator with Matthew McConaughey, Steve Zahn, and Clive Owen.
7.  One of my favorite photography subjects was baby loggerhead sea turtles hatching and crawling to the ocean.
8.  I was born on Christmas Eve.  My family has always been great about keeping the holidays separate.  Absolutely no Christmas wrapping paper allowed for birthday presents!
9.  My favorite tv shows include The Twilight Zone (the original, of course!), Gilmore Girls, Freaks & Geeks, Arrested Development, and Lost.
10.  I love working in my yard.  I especially like to grow basil, lavender, tomatoes, and any and all flower.

Hello, lovely Curation Nation teammates!  I'm Lauren Garner and I run Flash Forward Photography.  I was so honored when I was invited to join this wonderful team last summer (has it really been that long?) and I'm so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful group of talented and creative people!  I look forward to continuing to get to know each of you better and I can't wait to put your fantastic items in my treasuries and see what marvelous treasuries you create!  Cheers!

10.  I love dogs but I am terrified of cats (the claws scare me).
*******Last week's false fact about Kelly from Cookstah was this one: #3: I live in Colorado and I have climbed all of the Colorado 14ers (14,000 feet peaks). I did most of them before I turned 30. I have a teeshirt that is really ugly with the names of all the 14ers and I have them all checked off. I wear it all the time because I love to brag about it. Kelly lives in Colorado but didn't climb all of those peaks.  She's a sneaky Pete that Kelly!

Saturday Theme Treasury Challenge - Jungle Jane!

I always admired Tarzan's wife, Jane.  She got to live in a tree house, hang out with all of those exciting jungle animals and although Tarzan had pretty poor eating habits, he had those abs which could erase any wrong doings of his uncivilized behavior. Bonka, bonka, wow, wow!

Talkin' Tuesday - - Meet Kelly!

Here are 9 Fierce Facts about Kelly and one line is completely fictional.  Get involved by guessing which one of the 10 items listed below is the impostor. Put your comments below and Kelly may be around on Twitter so you can poke at her for some hints!  The fictional statement about Kelly will be posted next Tuesday when I feature the next CN Teammie. See below for the false fact about last week's featured teammie, Kristi.

1. I am a history teacher for my real job. Most people I meet think I teach art (because of Etsy) or Kindergarten (I think because of how I dress... lots of rainbow colors.)
2. I am married to a philosophy professor who writes books. He actually encouraged me to go part time teaching so that I could do art... thank goodness I married another flaky artist who believes in it!
3. I live in Colorado and I have climbed all of the Colorado 14ers (14,000 feet peaks). I did most of them before I turned 30. I have a teeshirt that is really ugly with the names of all the 14ers and I have them all checked off. I wear it all the time because I love to brag about it.
4. We have two sons named after saints: Augustine and Becket. We are uber nerds.
5. We don't have a TV... and it makes me so happy. I am actually a TV addict and I think if I had one again I would never get any art done.
6. I LOVE NPR... especially This American Life. When my sons were little and so constantly needy I would put on a podcast from NPR while I walked them in the stroller or nursed or change my millionth diaper. I think NPR saved my life.
7. My best friend lives in my town and is an awesome Etsy artist too! Her name is Betony and she is graysparrow on Etsy.  We do craft shows together and are usually the only "fine arts" artists there, which is really fun. We often do live painting while we sell art.
8. I hate olives. That is it. I like everything but I hate olives. Strangely I love olive oil and the color olive green. Also, what are pimentos all about?
9. When we were in college my husband was in a ska band. I basically stalked him until he liked me back. I was a super pathetic groupie.
10. I love coffee. I wish I loved normal coffee, but I love $5 lattes and I drink one every day. I often wonder how much thinner I might be if I hadn't consumed so much milk over that last 10 years. I don't wonder for long though, I never consider giving up lattes.

Hi team-awesome! My name is Kelly Cook. I have had the best time being a part of Curation Nation. I love the idea of doing art in community and I love this team. It has certainly brought me tons of exposure and sales, but best of all lots of support and ideas and love. I live in Colorado and I create art out of broken and worthless things. I started drawing on vintage paper as a lark (ran out of journal paper) and it kind of became my "thing). I make almost everything out of things that are headed for the land fill. This is partly because I am a green hippy (I live in Colorado after all) and because I am cheap! Thanks for reading my fun facts and being a great team!

*******Last week's false fact about Kristi from kristimcmurry was this one: #5 is not true.... I love green veggies, especially Broccoli and English Peas! My own personal comment: Can't you just see that face across the dinner table from you telling you that she wasn't going to eat her veggies?  Ohhhh man, I could!

Saturday Theme Treasury Challenge - March Into Spring!

Three weeks ago many of us mid-westerners had feet of snow on the ground!  Right now outside of my living room window my lawn is itching for me to put my flower beds in and tumble seeds in my garden.  Hang on my mid-westerner friends, Spring is on its way!

This Saturday's Treasury theme challenge is taken from Etsy's March Merchandising Desk - Into Spring.  Specifically Etsy promoted these ideas:  "March brings the spring equinox and a lighter outlook with it. Think in terms of how you can market towards and contribute to seasonal activities like spring cleaning, spring fashion, spring break, spring planting, a fresh outlook, rejuvenation and splashes of light, bright color."  If you deal in vintage it's a great time to promote your vintage goods by making the old new again!

There is always a photo used to express the theme but this item does not have to be included in your treasury.

The Rules:

1. Include at least 8 Curation Nation team members.
2. Tag the treasury "curationnation"

3. Tag the treasury "etsyteam".

1. I work at the university that I graduated from.
2. I have a 7 year old sister whom I love more than ANYTHING.
3. The first gift my boyfriend ever gave me was a bottle of Ralph Lauren Romance.
4. I think long and hard about small purchases like blue jeans, but I'm very spontaneous when it comes to expensive investments (yeah it SHOULD be the other way around).
5. I love green veggies, especially Broccoli and English Peas!
6. I collect milk glass and cameras.
7. I don't shop at Walmart or Forever 21.
8. cold+wind+rain is a combination that turns me into a real monster (hate it).
9. My church meets in my living room.
10. The best nap I've ever taken was at a place called Bellows in Hawaii.

*******Last week's false fact about Lindy from CraftedByLindy was this one: #5 is not true.... Lindy was born in Calgary but she wasn't raised there. She didn't move there until 9 years ago with her husband. She was born in Calgary but her parents lived about 20 minutes away but there was no hospital in Black Diamond for her mom to birth her so they had to come to Calgary to have her.  That's our Lindy, causin' trouble right from the get go!
